Apple unveiled the iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR on Wednesday during a product announcement event at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.
All three new phones boast all-screen displays, faster, A12 Bionic processors and an improved camera system.
The iPhone XS and XS Max are practically the same, except that the iPhone Max has a 6.5-inch screen and the XS has a 5.8-inch screen. Both phones us the OLED multi-touch HDR display, and use Apple’s new A12 Bionic chip. Both the XS and XS Max come in three color options: silver, space gray and gold.
The iPhone XR has a 6.1-inch LCD screen, features the A12 Bionic chip and is available in five colors: blue, white, black, yellow, coral and red.

iPhone XS camera
Both the XS and the larger XS Max feature two rear-facing 12-megapixel cameras, one wide-angle camera and the other telephoto.
iPhone XR camera
The iPhone XR model will have only one 12-megapixel rear-facing camera which is just fine for everyday use. The telephoto option is for those who want to take better pictures from longer distances.
Are the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR waterproof?
According to Apple, the XS and XS Max are both water resistant to a depth of 2 meters for up to 30 minutes. The iPhone XR is water resistant up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. We don’t encourage you to take your new iPhone on a diving expedition, but you might not have to worry that much if you dropped your iPhone in the toilet or wanted to take a few selfies underwater at the pool. All three new iPhones will come in three sizes: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

According to Apple, you can pre-order the new XS and XS Max on September 14 starting at 12:01 a.m. PST (3:01 a.m. EST)
The XS and XS Max will first ship on September 21.
Pre-orders for the XR will begin Friday, October 19 and shipping will start on October 26.
