A man arrested by police for a subway robbery in East Harlem allegedly told officers it was only a prank for a YouTube comedy series.
Craig Thomas, 29, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny after he stole a headset from a rider on August 1, DNAinfo reported. The victim was reportedly walking down the stairs to the 6 train platform at East 116th and Lexington Ave, when Thomas allegedly pushed him from behind and grabbed the device.
After officers canvassed the area to search for a suspect, Thomas was later found near the same stairwell by police.
“It was a prank, I make videos on YouTube,” Thomas reportedly told them.
Hm. Don’t quit your day job?
Thomas was arraigned on Aug. 2 with bail set at $5,000 cash or $15,000 bond, according to DNAinfo.
