iZUP puts texters on lock down

With just one day before the state texting ban goes into effect, some drivers worry about not being able to resist the urge to answer e-mails or texts while they drive.

But, as always, there’s an app for that.

Once downloaded, iZUP automatically launches when it detects that a phone is in a vehicle traveling more than five miles per hour; it sends incoming calls to voicemail and holds text messages until the vehicle stops.

Plymouth Rock Assurances announced a partnership on Tuesday with Illume Software, the makers of iZup, to give its policyholders a 25 percent discount on the cell phone application.
