James Bond’s new movie has a title, a cast and a slick new ride

If you were up early enough, you got to see “Skyfall” director Sam Mendes announce the title of the next James Bond adventure, unveiled live at 11:00 am GMT (that’s 6:00 am Eastern) during an event at the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios. The film, due next fall, will be called “Spectre,” suggesting that Bond (Daniel Craig) will be going head to head with the organization made famous in the original Sean Connery films but curiously absent from “Casino Royale,” “Quantum of Solace” and “Skyfall.”

Principle photography for “Spectre” begins Monday, with on-location filming taking the crew to Tangiers, Mexico City and elsewhere. You can relive this morning’s live announcement here:

Mendes brought out his “home team,” returning stars Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear and Naomie Harris will be reprising their roles as Bond, M, Q, Tanner and Moneypenny, respectively, before introducing the new additions to the cast. Those include Andrew Scott, “Guardians of the Galaxy” star David Bautista, Monica Belluci, “Blue is the Warmest Color” ingenue Lea Seydoux and Christoph Waltz. The director also unveiled a brand new Aston Martin designed for the film.

Whilethe Mirror recently reportedthat Scott is on tap for a villain role, Mendes introduced the “Sherlock” star as another member of the MI-6 team. Make of that what you will. And most notably, while Mendes mentioned the character names for nearly everyone, he left out one for Waltz, who is rumored to be taking on the iconic role of baddie Ernst Blofeld.

“Spectre” will be released November 6, 2015.
