According to Sam Smith of Bulls.com, “more NBA executives think the Celtics want to trade Jeff Green.”

Houston Rockets center Omer Asik remains the most likely piece to come to Boston in any Green trade. Green is averaging 15.8 ppg this season. Smith also writes in the post that it “sounds more and more like the Celtics plan to keep Rajon Rondo.”

A month ago, NBC Sports analyst Donny Marshall, said that the Celtics would likely trade the point guard before this year’s Feb. 20 deadline.

“I don’t like the word ‘sources,’ but from the people I talk to there is a huge deal in the mix,” Marshall said on NBCSN in December. “And Danny Ainge will say ‘No, no, no.’ It’s not just for Rajon Rondo but other players on this team (may go) to a team out West, the Sacramento Kings … (Rondo) is likely a goner. It’s pretty much a done deal, at some point. And it’s not just Rondo. There will be other pieces.”

Rondo has averaged 20 minutes per game in his two games back from an ACL injury. The newly named C’s captain dished out four assists against both the Lakers and Magic.
