Jennifer Lawrence is going on the offensive when it comes to Hollywood’s warped body image standards.

“I just think it should be illegal to call somebody fat on TV,” the actress tells Barbara Walters in a recent interview. “Because why is humiliating people funny? I get it, and I do it too, we all do it. But I think when it comes to the media, the media needs to take responsibility for the effect that it has on our younger generation, on these girls who are watching these television shows and picking up how to talk and how to be cool.”

In October, the actress revealed that someone tried to make her diet bybody-shaming her in the meanest way possible.

“Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn’t lose a certain amount of weight. They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet,” the “Hunger Games” star toldHarper’s Bazaar.

Jennifer said that although she had already won an Oscar, being told she was fat still hurt her feelings — but that she has no plans to diet, now or ever. “I was hurt. It doesn’t matter what accolades you get. I know it’ll never happen to me again. If anybody even tries to whisper the word ‘diet,’ I’m like, ‘You can go f— yourself.’”

Lawrence doesn’t get “practically naked” all that often, except when she’s playing Mystique, which suggests the culprit may be someone in the X-Men franchise.
