Jessica Simpson up for American Idol stint?

Jessica Simpson may be headed to American Idol, but she won’t be taking over for Simon Cowell.

“She’s not his replacement — they’re two entirely different personalities,” a source tells Life & Style magazine. “This is part of a massive overhaul of the show. There may be more judges, more opinions.”

Simpson’s rep would neither confirm nor deny the reports, saying, “There is nothing confirmed at this time.”
