FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Who knows what it looks like or if it actually exists, but New York Jets All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis notebook on his old team must be fascinating. Perhaps he’s making copies of it for distribution. The prodigal son Revis, signed as a free agent this offseason after two seasons away from the Jets, comes back to his old team replete with knowledge and insight on the New England Patriots. After all, Revis won a Super Bowl last year in New England and has a good knowledge of the team’s playbook as well as their tendencies on both sides of the ball. He’s gone up against Patriots quarterback Tom Brady as a Jet as well as all of last year in practice. He knows their wide receivers inside and outside. And he’ll know their defensive schemes as well. “I’ve got my notes,” Revis said on Wednesday. “I have my notes. Once you play a team so much twice a year, you’ve got to go back to the previous game depending on the years you’ve played them and see if you can pick up on anything. I’m sure those guys are doing the same thing on their end too.” RELATED: Hot Instagram pics of ESPN host Molly Qerim His return to the Jets has sparked a defense that ranks near the top (or at the top) of almost every defensive category. But beyond his play on the field, the man known as ‘Revis Island’ has been among the best in terms of leadership but also leading by example. During training camp, Revis was among the best players on the field, going all out and setting the tone for a physical camp. It has helped a young core in the backend that last year was terrible but this year has become among the best in the league. “Well, he’s done great things on the film while I was watching him. He’s doing great things now, so he’s pretty much staying the core, staying to what he does, staying to the core beliefs of what he does,” head coach Todd Bowles said on Wednesday. “He works hard, he makes plays, he’s a playmaker and he’s a good corner.”
