Now that’s a real drag.

On the same day where he tried to explain himself and a four-game suspension handed down by the league, Sheldon Richardson faced even more bad news on Thursday. Reports circulated about his recent arrest in O’Fallon, MO that included excessive speeding and resisting arrest.

On July 14, Richardson was arrested by the O’Fallon Police Department after his 2014 Bentley Silver Spur was clocked at 143 miles per hour. When police attempted to pull him over, Richardson, who was driving the vehicle, then sped up to try and allude arrest.

In trying to lose the police, he ran a red light and turned his lights off.

He was tracked down trying to hide the vehicle in a driveway of a nearby home. Two other adults were passengers in the vehicle as well as a 12-year old.

A handgun was found under the driver seat and the presence of marijuana was detected.

Thursday afternoon, Richardson spoke to the media for the first time following news early in July that he was suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
