It’s been a hot second since we’ve had a good old fashioned Kanye West diatribe, but luckily he has an innate sense for what the world is lacking.

To put us all at ease, West dropped by “The Ellen Show” for an eight-minute, fittingly bizarre stream-of-consciousness “interview” that left Elle DeGeneres pretty much speechless.

“I’m sorry, daytime television. I’m sorry for the realness,” he offered. While he took time to address his more eyebrow-raising tweets, the Oscars diversity issue, the state of hip-hop and how he wants to team-up with discount shoe retailer Payless to help combat bullying, perhaps his more salient point was about how all our criticisms and jokes are just getting in the way of West achieving his full potential. “
