Kanye West made a surprise appearance during Drake’s set at Toronto’s OVO Fest this week to announce the duo would release a new album.

“Toronto, I got one question for you: Is you all ready for this album? ” West asked the crowd. ”I’m not talking about ‘Pablo.’ I’m not talking about ‘Views.’ I want to ask y’all, y’all ready for this album?” He then pointed at Drake.

Drake then corroborated this statement, saying, “What my brother was asking before was, are you ready if we make an album? That’s what he was asking.”

Rumors that the two would collaborate started earlier this year when Drake said they were supposed to make a mixtape together during an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1.

“We’ll just sit and collaborate. We have a few things that we’ve worked on. It’s all about finding a place for it,” Drake said during the April interview. “We can link each other and discuss anything. Feeling a way on this or just leisure talk, we have a great relationship. I hope we get more music out. We were supposed to do a mixtape together, an album together… You never know, he’ll call me tonight and say, ‘I’m putting these two songs out tonight.’”

The “One Dance” rapper also revealed that West and Jay Z were cut from the final cut of “Views” due to the artists falling on “opposite sides of the spectrum.” As for Jay, Drake called it a “mutual respect, but sometimes it has to be from afar,” while West was deemed “one of my favorite people in the world.”

And guess which favorite person in the world didn’t get cut this time?
