Katy Perry gets naked to encourage young voters to hit the polls

After telling her Twitter followers Monday that she would be “using [her] body as click bait to help change the world,” Katy Perry proved that she’s serious about her promises. The 31-year-old pop star revealed her upheld vow, offering the world a video of her rolling out of bed to vote — naked.

In the “Funny or Die” clip produced in collaboration with Rock the Vote, Perry rises out of bed a frazzled mess, with popcorn and candy in her hair, and heads straight down to the polls, no touch-up necessary.

After all, the star was eager to share her good news: “This year, you can look like s—t when you vote.”

“In the name of democracy, any just out-of-bed look is A-OK,” she says in the video. “A child’s onesie, hunk in kids briefs, that free XL t-shirt you got from your bank– or, if you’re like me– I sleep naked.”

Unfortunately for Perry, arriving at the polls in the nude isn’t so legal, even in the world of comedic simulation, and the star is immediately put in cuffs. It appears she might have only “briefly scanned” her constitutional rights.

Speeding off in the back of the cop car, Perry ends the clip with a brief recantation: “My bad, you have to wear clothes. See you at the polls November 8th.”
