Kevin Satterfield: Florida man accused of killing family may be headed to Massachusetts (UPDATED)

A Florida man who allegedly shot his family and was believed to be headed to Massachusetts to kill officials from his former company was caught early this morning.

Kevin Satterfield, 55, was wanted by police in Florida for two counts of murder and a count of attempted murder, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Satterfield was fired from
Framingham-based Cumberland Farms in June. He worked as a manager at
several of the convenience stores in Florida.

A family member told the Sentinel that he called his mother and told her
he was driving to Framingham to kill executives from the company.

However he was caught in a Louisiana hotel at about 1 a.m. this morning, according to the Sentinel.

Police responded to the family’s home just before 1 a.m. yesterday and found Satterfield’s wife, Vicki, 53, and his daughter’s boyfriend, Christian Martinez, 27, fatally shot.

His 21-year-old daughter, who was 8 months pregnant, was also shot and taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

Police were searching for Satterfield for about 24 hours and put out information on the car he was driving with the hope that someone would spot him before he made good on the alleged threats. Florida authorities said in a statement that he was considered “armed and dangerous.”
