Kim Kardashian gets real about the possibility of surrogacy

On Sunday night, Kim Kardashian revealed that expanding her family won’t be easy. In fact, the reality star is consideringsurrogacy for her thirdchild.

According to PEOPLE,the 36-year-oldunderwent a procedure to help her carry another baby, but there were complications. Doctors told Kardashianthat carrying another child would be dangerous.

“Not only has this been really painful, but now hearing that I can’t carry any more kids, it couldn’t get any worse,” she said. “I really tried everything and I really want this and it’s just not going to happen to me.

“I always knew surrogacy was an option, ” she continued. “Now it’s my reality.”

Kardashian —who is one of several celebrity women who have opened up about problems with fertility and conceiving — is the mother of North, 3, and Saint, 1.

Bravo for her candor. The more women speak out about this kind of thing, the more women can understand that it’s a pretty common issue that arises. And that yeah, there can be struggles, but there can be hope, too.
