Kris Humphries vs. Rajon Rondo: Suspensions likely to come and Hump tweets his scratches

Zero-tolerance policies tend to be more of a Roger Goodell thing. But NBA commish David Stern has the NFL boss beat in one over-protective category. That being: NO FIGHTING.

No, Kris Humphries and Rajon Rondo did not come to full-fledged blows Wednesday night at TD Garden, but their shoving and scratch match wound up in the stands – three rows deep to be exact.

Stern is forever scarred (and rightfully so) for what happened at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Nov. 19, 2004 when Ron Artest went into the stands in Detroit and threw haymakers at a fan. Since that time, players have been suspended for even the slightest amount of physical contact.

There is little doubt that both Rondo and Humphries will both be suspended at least a game by the NBA, even if to most observers the scrum stopped short of being a ‘brawl.’

“That was a brawl?” Celtics rookie Jared Sullinger said to Metro after Wednesday’s game. “Na, that’s just a guy sticking up for his teammates.”

Caught on tape

Here is the best video of the Rondo-Humphries incident:

The former reality TV star Humphries tweeted the above photo an hour or so after the conclusion of Wednesday’s game, with the caption: “Anyone know where I can quick get a Tetnis shot in Boston?”
