Lara Logan: CBS reporter discusses sexual assault for the first time

In advance of her “60 Minutes” interview, CBS correspondent Lara Logan has opened up to the New York Times about her sexual assault in Cairo’s Tehrir Square during February’s Egyptian revolution.

There’s really nothing you can say about the details of the assault except “How horrifying” — Logan describes being attacked by a mob of hundreds of men, who separated her from her bodyguards and then groped and beat her for 40 minutes:

“For an extended period of time, they raped me with their hands… What really struck me was how merciless they were. They really enjoyed my pain and suffering. It incited them to more violence.”

Credit to Logan for speaking out on behalf of the millions of women worldwide who are subjected to sexual violence. Read the full article at NYTimes.com.
