Lawn signs ‘clutter,’ a ‘waste’: Doucet

At least one mayoral candidate is taking a different approach to campaigning.

The Clive Doucet for Mayor Campaign Team will not use lawn signs in the upcoming Oct. 25 election.

“If people in Ottawa don’t know who Clive Doucet is after 13 years, signs on the lawns aren’t going to change it,” Doucet said Thursday.

This decision is about doing politics differently, a press release from the campaign office stated: “Ottawa does not need piles of non-recyclable materials left behind from tens of thousands of lawn signs.”

“Lawn signs are a clutter, a waste of resources and environmentally unsound,” Doucet said.

“We can deliver a great campaign about positive change for the city in an environmentally-friendly way.”
