DANCE

“Babel”

Humanity has done some pretty audacious things. In “Babel,” a new work by Convergences Theatre Collective, mankind’s hubris finally crosses a line with the gods when we get together to build a tower to heaven. Our punishment: to lose our common language. But when you don’t have words, you still have bodies, making dance and acrobatics the ultimate form to tell this Greek allegory. Through Feb. 5, Theater at the 14th Street Y, 344 W. 14th St., $25-$70, convergencescollective.com
