Jacoby Ellsbury was already in the middle of one of the best seasons in modern history.
Now, he’s apparently decided to start winning games all by himself.
Ellsbury hit a walkoff home run to beat the Indians last night at Fenway Park. It was his second game-winning hit in as many games.
“I realized it was the ninth inning and I had been 0-for-4 both games. I’m
just trying to get on base,” Ellsbury told reporters. “The last two days have been pretty
good.”
We’ll say. Especially after last year’s injury-plagued debacle.
The only negative for the Sox? Tim Wakefield was denied his 200th career victory, despite a strong start. He’ll get another chance next week.
