"Pedro Pan"
Performed in both English and Spanish, this production is a "Coming to America" story, making it all the more appropriate to be staged here in New York. Kids will see what it is like to be an immigrant searching for a sense of belonging in a new city. Set in 1962, this musical follows about a boy named Pedro after he escapes from Cuba with his family, based on real-life events that occurred during the CIA's Operation Pedro Pan.

"The Story of Babar"
Immerse yourself in French culture for a day at the French Institute Alliance Francaise's Family Saturdays, which boasts a whole day of activities. The highlight is a production of "The Story of Babar," the elephant from the famed French children's books. After the performance, you and your kids can check out a screening of a North African kiddie indie called "Zarafa," about a small boy and a giraffe who travel across Africa together. Then, attend a pastry cooking workshop taught by French chef Sylvie Berger, where you can help your child decorate cookies.

"Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music!"
Promising your kid a trip to see Elmo and company can score you good behavior for days. Kids will be in awe watching Elmo on stage at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. In the musical, a new music teacher arrives on Sesame Street, but her instruments are missing. The puppets show her how to make music in ways she never considered before, like using trash can lids and rubber duckies. Sorry in advance for the pot and pan drumming your child is sure to try when you get home.
