Report: Average bra size in America is 34DD
According to a new study by Intimacy, the national bra size has increased by three-cup sizes over the last 30 years, from 1983’s average of a 34B, to today’s average of a 34DD.
We all know that the average weight of Americans is at all time high, but apparently our stomachs aren’t the only things expanding.
According to a new study by Intimacy, the national bra size has increased by three cup sizes over the last 30 years — from 1983’s average of a 34B, to today’s average of a 34DD.
This trend, although drastic, is actually not quite surprising. In fact, Florence Williams wrote a whole book about it last year, “Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History.”
This growth has prompted the American market to carry bigger sizes. A spokesperson told Racked that in the past, “women with bigger breasts squeezed into bras that were two or more cup sizes too small.”
In case you wondering, here’s some other things that grew here in the land of the bigger and better.
