The Continuing Education Department at The Cooper Union offers a variety of courses and certificate programs that will help you achieve your goals.

Are you interested in learning to paint or draw? Classes such as Introduction to Watercolor Workshop or Drawing for Absolute Beginners would be an excellent starting point. Perhaps you already have experience in these art forms and are looking to hone your skills. Experimental Drawing will explore alternative methods of drawing such as abstract mark making and drawing in exaggerated styles.

We also offer courses in digital photography and Photoshop.

Are you interested in learning more about the city you live in? The City Transformed is an 8-week lecture series on the development of New York City.

We currently offer three certificate programs in 3-D Fabrication, Green Building Design and Typeface Design.

Our 3-D Fabrication Certificate comprises an introduction as well as advanced courses in 3-D digital modeling, spatial modeling, physical computation and interaction, as well as digital fabrication.

The Green Building Design Certificate offers professional development courses for architects, engineers and other allied professionals. Most of the courses meet state license-renewal requirements.

Students in the Typeface Design certificate program learn specialized skills to design professional quality digital typefaces and lettering.

Our classes meet at our campus in the East Village, near the N, R and #6 subways.
