Curb junk-food cravings with these tasty snacks

We know how tempting it is to reach for a candy bar or Dr. Pepper to get you through the day, but we also know how detrimental they can be for your health. Here are some better alternatives.

If you crave soda:

12NtM Sparkling Beverages

Chef David Burke created two new, all-natural thirst-quenchers for 12NtM: Rouge, a pomegranate and black currant mix, and Blanc, a citrus-ginger zinger. The drinks have no added sugar and contain only 60 calories per bottle. $2.50, D’Agostino

If you crave something sweet:

Natural Vines Strawberry Licorice

These chewy treats, a mere 17 calories a pop, contain natural licorice extract and are made sweet from molasses and pure cane syrup. They also have no high-fructose corn syrup, preservatives, cholesterol or trans fats. $3.49, Whole Foods

If you crave something chocolatey:

Cocoa Kissed SaviSeeds

Get your chocolate fix and a mega dose of omega-3s with Cocoa Kissed SaviSeeds, an all-natural snack that looks and tastes like chocolate-covered nuts. They boast 7,000 mg of omega-3s per serving, almost three times the amount found in walnuts. $2.99, Whole Foods

If you crave something salty:

Snikiddy fries

Forgo the fries at your next barbecue and get your munch on with Snikiddy snacks. The crunchy fries taste just as good as potato chips but have 50 percent less fat and contain no trans fats, corn syrup, hydrogenated oils or preservatives. There are six flavors, like Barbeque (the newest) and Classic Ketchup. $2.49, Gourmet Garage
