Ivanka Trump’s Twitter update claims Trump SoHo is the biggest hotel opening in NYC, and no one is arguing. Last week was the scene of back-to-back parties to usher in downtown’s newest jet-set roost, and to show off Trump’s flair for doing things big. Greeting guests was an army of PR staffers with multiple VIP lists. Visitors were then free to roam the premises and sample menus from the restaurant, club, and event spaces, as well as check out the rooms being shown on the 26th floor of the 46-story tower.

While the seventh floor outdoor pool and bar aren’t open yet, the restaurant and club are. In the front of the lobby is the sleek eatery Quattro Gastronomia Italiana, a basic replica of the original restaurant in South Beach. In the back of the lobby is Kastel, a club created by another team from South Beach that will be a guest-list-only space after 10 p.m. The Rockwell Group was brought in for the hotel’s interiors and they successfully remained true to the luxurious image Trump tries to convey, while toning down the tackiness that can come with his overuse of gold, marble, and mirrors. The interiors are warm yet modern, and the rooms are furnished exclusively with Fendi Casa.

The sales team has been notoriously mum about how many units have sold, as sales have not lived up to expectations. Prices start at $1.2 million for ownership and room rates are starting around $400 per night.
