It's officially flu season and just commuting to work on the subway puts you at risk. One way to save up your sick days to use when the weather's nice enough to play hooky: eat some goji berries. A new study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that adding the tart snack to your diet can help keep you from getting sick.
The study was conducted by The Department of Agriculture Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University and the scientists found that adding goji berries to mice's diet helped them bounce back from the flu faster, working in conjunction with a flu shot.
While the berries are good to munch on raw, other ways of adding them to your diet are mixing them in with oatmeal for breakfast, sprinkling them on top of ice-cream, or adding them to a muffin mix. When it comes to fighting the flu during the busiest time of the year, every little bit helps.
