Google Glass is already sold out after a one-day sale to the general public. But how much do we really know about tech's hot new item?

Glass is an eyeglass frame thatsyncs with your smartphone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to allow you to take phone calls, send text messages and shoot photos and video. If you’re trying to get somewhere, you can also see maps in Glass. It is iPhone-compatible, but all of the features will work on Android devices.

At 1.28 ounces, the device weighs less than a pair of sunglassesand is made from bendable titanium. Currently the device comes with a 5-megapixel camera, but we anticipate that will get better as the technology develops.

Be ready to shell out a pretty penny: Google Glass will set you back about $1,500.
