Google One and Google Drive: What’s the difference?

If you already use Google Drive, you might not notice many differences with the new service. However, if you’re using the paid membership, you will notice you'll be able to get more a storage at a lower price.

How much does Google One cost?

If you decide to sign up for a membership, here are some things you need to know before you sign up, including pricing and how much storage you get can get.

Google still gives you 15GB of storage for free, which is suitable for storage of Google Docs and other small files, but if you’re looking for a little more storage for photos and video, Google has a 100GB plan that costs $1.99 per month and 200GB of storage for $2.99 per month.

For photographers and multimedia professionals looking to back up their work in the cloud, Google offers a 2TB plan for $9.99. This seems to be the best deal because it’s the same price for 1TB on Google Drive.

The company also offers 10, 20 and 30TB plans if you’re looking for more storage. The 10TB plan is $99.99 per month, 20TB is $199.99 and the 30TB Google One storage plan is $299.99 per month.

The shareable storage option is available for Google One memberships at the 100 GB plan and higher. At the 100 GB Google One membership level, each member gets 15 GB of storage reserved for them by default. Once you go over the 15 GB it begins to count against the available shared storage.
