Stay at these haunted Airbnb homes

With Halloween just around the corner, instead of dressing up in a scaring costume why not celebrate the spookiest time of the year at a haunted house?

If you don’t happen to have a friend or relative with a haunted home, then Airbnb has several accommodations that promise to come with a ghost or two, or at least a spooky atmosphere.

The Manor – Master Chamber (Saint Paul, Minnesota)

Voted “the most mysterious house in Saint Paul,” the home has a stony exterior, encroaching on age-old woods. It also comes with a Doberman named Scorch.

Haunted Castle House (Brumley, Missouri)

Named one of the most haunted homes in the Midwest, the 169-year-old Victorian has over a century of paranormal activity, and was once a funeral home and hospital. The home is original to the 1850s, including the 2-foot thick hand-poured concrete walls, two-story Turret and an original staircase, made in London. It is also furnished in antiques from the 1850s to the 1930s. The owners love to share paranormal stories with guests and remind them to check out the cemeteries in the back.

Parks-Bowman Mansion: The Haunted Bedroom (New Orleans)

Voted among the “Top Ten Haunted Airbnb Locations” by Buzzfeed, the room features a ghost of a young girl in a yellow dress from the 1890s who is described as very shy. Though the listing says “you probably won’t see her, although some people swear she exists!”

Laura’s Cottage (Savannah, Georgia)

According to the listing, “the cottage was used in the filming of Robert Redford’s film The Conspirator, as well as being a favorite with local ghost tours. It has been on the Savannah Tour of Homes and you will not find another space like it in Savannah.”

The Haunted Chamber Apartment (York, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom)

Described as “silent” and a “madness chamber” by its listing, the 600-year-old apartment claims to be haunted.

The Haunted Bedroom at Talliston (Great Dunmow, United Kingdom)

The room “recreates in nightmarish detail the bedchamber of a 7-year-old Edwardian child complete with books, toys and ephemera,” according to its listing. It also claims its guests may experience “unexplained smells and sounds.”
