Fashion models have some of the biggest Instagram followings around, and it's no surprise why — they are experts at sexy selfies, backstage peeks and envy-inspiring shots of the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Even if you hate those pretentious poses, you love to hate them. Metro got the scoop from three globetrotting beautiful people on how to keep their audience interested, what and what not to share with their world, and how to deal with the haters.

Why Instagram? Do you find it's a good way to expand your personal brand?

Instagram appeals to the visual stimuli. It is an instantly gratifying way to peer into the life people wish to share. It's fast and effective as a social connection.

How quickly did your followers add up? Is it easier to gain followers as a model?

My followers grew with relevant work, as campaigns and editorials are released or a spotlight is cast. Instagram allows people to find you and follow your future moves.

How do you choose to share a photo — which parts of your personal life do you decide to go public with?

I share the moments I want my friends and family to be a part of. If you are following me, you are a part of that social circle, as well as recent moments that I want to remember.

Models (and celebs in general) tend to get a lot of haters on the Internet. How do you deal with negative comments?

Negative comments are simply opinions. You may share them with me, but I doubt I will listen.

In your opinion, what makes the perfect Instagram pic?

Millions of likes.

Have you ever posted a photo you regretted sharing?

Nope. My life is for you to double-tap.

I personally feel social media is a good way to brand yourself. It gives you a chance to show people a different side of yourself, whether they know of you or want to know more about you.

How quickly did your followers add up? Is it easier to gain followers as a model?

One shout-out or feature from someone with a high following can lead to more people following you. It's kind of like a domino effect. I don't really chase for a high following, but people have an interest in people that are in the public eye (models, actors, musicians, etc.)

How do you choose to share a photo — which parts of your personal life do you decide to go public with?

I try not to make my social media so "model related" and I don’t like to post the same type of stuff over and over again. I like to give my followers some entertainment. I tend to post funny videos or selfies more than anything. Don't get me wrong — I will post a tear sheet, a shot from a photo shoot or the results of an ad I was featured in, but for the most part my page is very out the norm and outlandish.

Models (and celebs in general) tend to get a lot of haters on the Internet. How do you deal with negative comments?

Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion and everyone is a critic. I couldn’t care less about negative comments. Haters are undercover fans, in my opinion, and I love them just as much as they hate me (or love me).

What makes the perfect Instagram pic?

The best Instagram pics are the ones that never get old to look at. Make people return to your post(s). And of course, lighting. If you have the right lighting, then get ready for the best selfie of your life.

Have you ever posted a photo you regretted sharing?

I don't really post things I would regret, but sometimes I look at the madness in the comments and say to myself, "Well, this wasn't one of my best ideas." It is what it is.

Why Instagram? Do you find it's a good way to expand your personal brand?

I think Instagram is great platform to show my work to people that I already worked with and also to new people. I also show my personality through Instagram by posting pictures that I personally like, places that I visit and so on!

How quickly did your followers add up? Is it easier to gain followers as a model?

I guess it was quite fast, and I guess because I am a model. Through my job, I meet a lot of people, so I think it helps, yes.

How do you choose to share a photo — which parts of your personal life do you decide to go public with?

In the beginning, I tried not to post too many personal pictures, but I realized that people like that, so I started to post a little more and I saw I got more followers! In general, I post the pictures that I personally like.

How do you deal with the haters?

I have to say, I didn’t have so many bad experience with "haters," but if somebody doesn’t like me or my pictures, it is not really my problem, so I just ignore them.

In your opinion, what makes the perfect Instagram pic?

I think the perfect Instagram picture is one that is natural, friendly, maybe a little sexy…. not too perfect!
