Living outside of the city

Currently surrounded by deep snow and set among tall, icicle-dripped pines, the stone and timber condominium complex on Greenbriar Drive in North Reading is reminiscent of a ski resort lodge; somewhere to relax during the snowy months. But it’s not just during the winter that Greenbriar’s residents have a relaxed lifestyle. Once summer comes, homeowners enjoy a swimming pool, tennis courts and a picnic area with a grill.

This condominium complex, which was built in the mid-1970s, consists of seven buildings, each with 24 homes. Though it’s set in relatively rural northern Massachusetts, it’s bang in the middle of I-93 to the east and I-95 to the west, and Boston is a mere 20 miles south.

“Greenbriar is a great complex,” says agent Kimberly O’Neill. “It has all these amenities and it’s conveniently located between Andover and Reading — and all their quaint restaurants and shops. It also has easy access to the Jordan’s complex and the Burlington, North Shore and Woburn malls.”

A condo in the complex that’s currently for sale was recently fitted with new carpets, energy-efficient windows and a dishwasher.
