Snapchat has already tiptoed into advertising to users with music videos and flash ads, and according to The Wall Street Journal, more are coming. The paper reports that the app is gearing up to launch Snapchat Discovery, which will include TV clips, movie clips and news articles.
Mashable notes that big brands such as McDonalds and Taco Bell have already been using Spanchat for branding opportunities, even though Snapchat does not currently offer advertising. Media companies like MTV, Seventeen magazine and more have also started using the app to tweet exclusive messages to their followers, luring followers by offering prizes.
Snapchat Discovery is set to release in November. If you have the app, you'll know as soon as it happens because Snapchat makes big announcements via snap to anyone with the app.
