It's well documented that Americans generally take fewer and shorter vacations than almost everyone else. But a newly released study illustrates just how vacation-starved most of us are.
The travel news startup Skift found that almost 51 percent of Americans have yet to take a vacation day in 2014. And those who are taking a break from the office aren’t leaving for long - only 15 percent of those surveyed say they’ve taken more than 10 days off this year.

Here's another startling finding from the survey: regardless of age, women are the ones taking the least amount of vacation.
