Never second-guess your drink order with this new book

This is the cover to look out if you want Zach Golden's recipe book. This is the cover to look out if you want Zach Golden’s recipe book.

We have all been there. Hanging casually over the bar, looking cool – until we get caught in the indecisive moment of choosing a drink from the three-foot long menu and mumble, “Whatever with vodka is fine.”

“Before, I was a total ‘bourbon on the rocks’ kind of guy. Every time I tried new drinks in a bar it invariably was pink and served in a really wispy glass,” laughs Zach Golden, author to a new recipe book.

The book is called “What The F*@# Should I Drink?” and in it, you can find 75 drink recipes served in a witty, swearing style. Try them at home and you will know what to throw right back at the bartender next time he asks you the demanding question.

“Writing this book and trying the recipes was actually really good for me because I started opening up to new drinks,” Golden says.”It definitely makes it easier to order in the bar the more drinks you have tried and the bigger repertoire you have,”

We have already chosen what drink we want to flash our newly acquired knowledge with: “The Last Word.”

The Last Word

¾ ounce green chartreuse

¾ ounce London dry gin

¾ ounce lime juice

¾ ounce Luxardo Maraschino

Add the Green Chartreuse, gin, lime juice and Luxardo Maraschino to a shaker ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
