New York Fashion Week: Donna Karan fall 2015

“The glamour of the New York skyline” informed Donna Karan’s fall show — doesn’t it always? Yet, Karan brought new life to city-slicker basics, imbuing her hard chic with romance: tuxedo shirts with blouson sleeves, pinstripe pencil skirts spliced with silk chiffon insets and tied with obi belts, and fabulous, swinging topcoats rendered in rich gold brocade or embellished with beading. (The black evening dresses that closed the show were standouts too.)
