Sweet Briar College, a liberal arts college for women in Virginia, announced last week that it would be closing its doors after 114 years due to financial difficulties. Current and admitted students are said to be devastated by the news and are figuring out where they can finish their undergraduate educations.

One Pennsylania women’s college is offering to help.

Bryn Mawr College recently announced that it would be extending its transfer and admissions deadlines specifically for current and prospective Sweet Briar students.

“Please note that we will accept applications from current Sweet Briar students wishing to transfer to Bryn Mawr, as well as those admitted Early Decision who may wish to begin their post-secondary education here this fall,” the college posted in a statement on its admissions website. Drexel’s musical talent on display: Students enrolled in Drexel University’s music industry program had the opportunity to work with New York City-based music publisher Reservoir, thanks to a new partnership.

According to Drexel Now, students enrolled in the class “Uncovering the Philly Groove” will work with both raw vocals and instrumentals to complete several previously unfinished, decades-old songs. Students presented some of the finished tracks last week. Meghan Poole
