OWN: A whole lotta nothing

The first day of 2011 will be met with a hangover (a given) and the premiere of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network (a huge letdown).

The first day of 2011 will be met with a hangover (a given) and the premiere of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network (a huge letdown). Yesterday, Winfrey announced what her legions of fans can expect from her huge new project — and it's not a lot. Naomi and Wynonna Judd will star in “The Judds,” a reality program that will focus on the two prepping for their first tour in ten years. “Ryan and Tatum: The O’Neals” will follow the two troubled actors, Ryan and Tatum O’Neal, as they try to rekindle their relationship and “Carson-Nation” will highlight Carson Kressley as he tries to get those in small-town America to dress better (good luck with that one, Carson).

So, basically, OWN is like TLC but without the multiple births.

But, really, who cares if it's lame? If there's just one prime-time special where Oprah talks about her struggles with her weight, you know everyone will tune in. It’s part of our DNA at this point.
