People do not care about fake-dead celebrities

Alicia Keys’ bid to have notable Twitter users like Lady Gaga, Ryan Seacrest and Kim Kardashian “die” to raise money and awareness for World AIDS Day hasn’t worked out as hoped, according to Hollyscoop. The celebrities vowed to go silent on the social-networking site until $1 million had been raised for Keys’ charity, Keep a Child Alive — but by the end of the week, they’d reportedly only raised a little more than $200,000.

We’re no economists here, but perhaps the idea of “paying someone not to do work” might not be the most lucrative?
