Remember a simpler time when people enjoyed food for what it was instead of inventing new hybrid items every other week, like the cronut or ramen burger? Last week, two new, strange food products were announced: Mountain Dew-flavored Doritos and drinkable peanut butter. We’re all about flavored Doritos. Cooler Ranch? Fantastic. Guacamole? Absolutely. But have we really reached the point in American food where we need soda-flavored chips? Pepsi Co. announced on Friday that “Dewritos” are currently underway, posting a photo to Reddit. They’ve even tested the chips on a bunch of unfortunate college kids. As for the drinkable peanut butter, the responsibility for releasing that unsavory food item goes to Peanut Hottie. Basically, it’s a hot peanut butter-flavored drink that you buy in powder form, similar to hot chocolate mix. Right now, you can only get it at Wal-Mart, but the brand is working on being distributed wider in the U.S. How to you feel about these new foods? Take our poll below.
