KTCHN Restaurant is getting in on the cronut craze with the debut of its new Cro-Dough: a hand-rolled puff pastry baked, then filled with warm vanilla cream and topped with dark chocolate icing and sprinkles.

We had the very difficult job of sampling Cro-Doughs to inform you, dear readers, about this new treat. Here’s what some Metro staffers had to say:

“Flaky goodness with the right amount of chocolate and cream.” -Lenyon Whitaker, Multimedia Editor

“It’s perfect for your very worst sugar craving.” -Maja Lundager Pedersen, Intern

“It was really yummy. I wanted to eat a whole one and thought there was a chance I might have eaten even more after that. I liked them more than I expected because they’re not really super-pretty looking, and I don’t usually like custard-filled things, but the flaky/crunchy outside and the chocolate frosting do a nice thing with the custard filling. I liked this more than most living things I’ve interacted with today.” -Danielle Tcholakian, Senior News Reporter

“The flakiness of the pastry was an immediate turn-on. They are so good!” -Cassandra Garrison, Head of Web Content

“I liked these knock-off cronuts a lot more than other imitators — that being said, they still didn’t feel like a doughtnut-croissant fusion. The circular croissants tasted airy and nothing like the dense cake of a doughnut, but the cream was decadent and not overly sweet.” -Eva Kis, Web Editor

“I think if these are so popular, I’m buying stock in Tums.” -Debbie Ullman, Page Designer

“I’d rather have a doughnut. To me, it is way too greasy and does not taste good at all.” -Disgruntled anonymous Metro employee

“It was flaky and buttery, maybe a little too buttery. The frosting helped to sweeten it up because other than that it wasn’t sweet.” -Amanda Art, Social Media Manager

“Honest thoughts? Very cute, but I think I’d rather just be eating a doughnut.” -Anisa Arsenault, Intern

“It’s like in choosing your outfit in the morning. If you are showing leg, don’t show off the boob. If you are showing off boobs, don’t show off the leg. Having both cream and icing is way too much. One or the other, cronut.” -Dorothy Robinson, Managing Editor
