Just because summer's over doesn't mean outside playtime has to stop. When it's 75 degrees out and sunny, you don't need another reason to take your kids to the park. We teamed up with KaBOOM!, a nonprofit that brings active play to children across the U.S., to round up the five best toys for fall. All the toys are from KaBOOM's Go Outside and Play Collection, which has the aim of helping families play together in ways that exercise their minds and bodies. All toys are available for purchase at kaboom.org/store.
1. Night Zone Football, $15.95
A game of toss football doesn't have to stop when the sun sets! The LED strip lights up the ball so you can keep track of it even in the dark. It can also be turned off so you don't waste the batteries when playing during the day. Since the football is made of foam, so it's not as hard as a traditional football.
2. Spooner Board Pro, $54.95
If your kid is into skateboarding, he or she will love this toy which lets them practice surfing or snowboarding moves on any surface. They can do all the fancy spins and moves they would on the water, snow or asphalt without the risk of a wipe out. It's also a workout! The Spooner Board Pro really tests their balance and works their core, but they'll be too busy having fun to notice.
3. Go Out And Play Backpack, $29.95 to $59.95
If you don't want to tote a ton of stuff to the park but you still want to keep your kids entertained when you're there, this backpack is all you need. No matter what your kids will want to do, this backpack will have you covered.
4. 2-in-1 Sports Trainer, $26.95
Your son or daughter will feel like a pro athlete in training with this toy, which helps perfect their throwing skills. One side features a football player, and the other side is a baseball player. Meant for kids ages three and up, it's a great way for even young kids to hone in on throwing that perfect spiral.
5. OgoDisk Mezo, $35.95
This is an awesome two-person game. Each kid takes a disk and bounces a ball back and forth to each other on it. For young kids, stay close together. For older kids, move them apart - more space means more of a challenge! It works with basically any ball - a rubber ball, tennis ball, even a Koosh ball!
