The Word: Cooper and Zellweger call it quits

This morning, we find ourselves a little sad to report that Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger reportedly split over the weekend after almost two years together.

In a blow to gossip columns everywhere, the always-private couple didn’t even have the courtesy to throw any parting tantrums — or even nasty looks! — during this year’s excruciatingly boring awards-show season. Zellweger skipped the Golden Globes to travel to the Philly area when Cooper’s father passed away in January, and a source tells UsMagazine.com that they were “cute” and “very attentive” at a February party hosted by the Weinsteins.

Any day now we’re expecting a classy joint statement pledging “love and respect,” well wishes and a request for privacy. We’re so bored, we might just give it to them.

Britney Spears keeps it clean

Want to work on Brit’s new video? You better be a good influence on the boss: A nondisclosure agreement obtained by TMZ states, “Contractor acknowledges that it is essential that [Britney] not be exposed to any alcohol, drugs or controlled substances.” As anyone who witnessed 2007 knows, “essential” is putting it lightly.

Courtney back on Twitter?

After a nasty little lawsuit in January over “malicious threats,” Courtney Love and her colorful tweets left the building. But the rambling rocker — or someone posing as her — surfaced over the weekend under the handle @cloverxxxlove. The account has been deleted, but not before gems such as: “@chelseahandler i think you are a leathery idiot and rude.”
