The Word: Forgive us, Miley Cyrus

It seems we owe Miley Cyrus an apology. While we were rooting against her as rumors circled that she might land a spot at the “X Factor” judges table, she was busy being an adult with a real life and rescuing dogs.

Earlier this month, the starlet brought home Happy, a beagle mix who was left outside a Walmart, and over the weekend she added a fifth rescue pup, Mary Jane, to her collection.

“Meet the newest addition to our family Mary Jane,” Cyrus tweeted. “I love rescuing.”

And apparently, Cyrus’ dogs live — and sleep — pretty comfortably. “As all my dogs jumped on my face the first words out of my mouth this morning … ‘I am living my dream life,'” she Tweeted later.

Miley, we have to admit, we seriously underestimated your idea of a dreamy morning with Mary Jane. Consider this your summer get-out-of-the-gossip-column-free pass — and tell your girl Lindsay about our limited-time deal.

Smart move, Billy Bob

The way Billy Bob Thorton tells it, there’s no hard feelings between him and ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

“We had a great marriage and I chickened out because I didn’t feel good enough,” the actor admitted on an interview with “Nightline” that aired last night. “That’s all that happened. It was no big deal, we never hated each other.”

If Jolie still had a vial of our blood, we’d say the same thing.

JLo’s a wanted woman

After Jennifer Lopez admitted she might not have a third season of “America Idol” in her, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe is hoping to win her over. “I know how much she loves doing the show and how much she cares for the kids,” he tells TMZ. “We want her back. I want her back.”

Nice start, Nigel, but you’re going to have to do better — this lady is used to the grovel, and we suspect she enjoys it.
