Any more delays and it will be called ‘Old Men’
Miss “Mad Men?” Well, get ready for a longer wait — it was announced yesterday that the fifth season of AMC’s hit show won’t premiere until 2012. “We are getting a later start than in years past due to ongoing, key non-cast negotiations,” said AMC in a statement, probably referring to creator Matthew Weiner’s big-money negotiations with Lionsgate (the “Mad Men” production company).
The Daily is also reporting that AMC execs want to cut three minutes from episodes in order to sell more ad spots, remove two characters and integrate products directly into episodes — demands Weiner does not like.
My suggestion? Do whatever Weiner wants and start filming, stat. Joan’s rack isn’t going to be buoyant forever, you know.
Show us something we haven’t seen
Christina Aguilera may have a racy photo scandal on her hands, as a digital storage card containing her intimate photographs has been found in a French hotel room, according to Radar Online. They allegedly show the singer at Nicole Richie’s bachelorette party and in bed with boyfriend Matt Rutler. Note to the dude who is trying to sell the images:?Good luck. The last thing the world needs are more photos of Christina Aguilera looking like a tart.
Law, order, Sheen
Following their “ripped from the headlines” template, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” is going to address the Charlie Sheen blitzkrieg with a new episode featuring a Charlie Sheen-type “bad boy” who goes on a cocaine-and-hooker bender which ends with a murder. The episode will star Jay Mohr as the Sheen-esque character, reports Deadline Hollywood. No word on who will play the dead body, but if they wait long enough, it could very well be Sheen himself.
