In “Monday Morning Mentoring: Ten Lessons to Guide You Up the Ladder,” David Cottrell presented the top 10 musts for quality leadership and management. Now, Cottrell returns with “Tuesday Morning Coaching: Eight Simple Truths to Boost Your Career and Your Life,” a self-help book on how to make a positive change in all areas of your life.
Have a “no matter what” attitude: “The economy does not have power over where you focus. It doesn’t dictate your next move,” he says. Successful people are the ones who will move forward and won’t procrastinate.
… and then some: Always think of giving “a little something extra,” says Cottrell. “It doesn’t only apply to people that work directly with customers, it applies to everyone.”
“Consider it done”: These three words show commitment and responsibility.
Above all else: “You must understand what the most important, non-negotiable things in your job and your life really are,” Cottrell advises.
“From now on”: When these words come out of your mouth, “You’re really saying, ‘Change now!’”
See it, feel it, trust it, do it: “The most difficult thing is understanding what you want … but it’s also the most important thing.”
Knowledge is power: “The key to success is to keep learning and increasing your knowledge.”
