As we all know, it’s been Conan O’Brien’s lifelong dream to host “The Tonight Show.” And now, due to terrible management by NBC, he has to abandon it. Which begs the question — how much cash would you demand to give up your dream once you were so close to realizing it? Well, for O’Brien, it’s a cool $40 million. Sources tell Bloomberg News that NBC will pay this chunk of change to the late-night host and members of his staff — and will allow him to work at another network.
The sum is pretty spectacular, considering we’d let Jay Leno write The Word if NBC promised to cover our heating bills for the next three months.
