Right about now farmers markets are brimming with barrels of apples. But don't waste your time munching on a Red Delicious, which you can get year long. Now's the time to indulge in new varieties, like this year's buzzy, SweeTango. Introduced in 2009, SweeTango — a hybrid of Honeycrisp and Zestar — is a sweet apple with plenty of crunch.

Those wanting to try the seasonal fruit need to hurry though, the variety is only available through the end of October. If you're having trouble tracking some down, head to Sweetango.com and search the interactive map. Apple fans are invited to share their photos and favorite SweeTango spots for a chance to win a season's supply of the apples and a trip to an orchard.
