Listen to Demi Moore’s friends call 911

The 911 call made by friends at the home of Demi Moore reveals the troubled actress may have smoked some sort of substance before she was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance Monday night.

Rumors have been circulating about what exactly happened to Moore, 49, to prompt her to enter rehab. We’ve heard whippets and Red Bull could be to blame, but her concerned friends on the 911 recording, posted by the Daily News, told the dispatcher that Moore smoked “something,” but not marijuana.

“She smoked something,” the female caller tells the 911 operator. “It’s not marijuana, but it’s similar to, it’s similar to incense, and she seems to be having convulsions of some sort.”

At one point, the dispatcher asks, “Is she breathing normally?”

Another friend who took over the call replied, “No, um, not so normal, but more sort of shaking, convulsing. But burning up.”

“She’s been having some issues lately with some other stuff, so I don’t know what she’s been taking and not,” the friend says.

The dispatcher asks whether Moore has overdosed before and her friend responds, “I don’t know. There’s been some stuff recently that we’re all just finding out.” the friend said.

A man later takes over the call.

“She’s much calmer. Now she’s breathing fine. She’s not convulsing. She’s leaning up and sort of talking quiet,” he tells the dispatcher.

Moore was rushed to the hospital and her rep released a statement saying, “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

Moore has been at the center of a very public divorce with husband Ashton Kutcher since rumors of his extra-marital affairs came to light. She’s appeared much thinner and very somber in recent weeks.
