Little Italy was home to Spain’s Ottawa superfans yesterday, as a packed reception hall at Sala San Marco thrilled to the Spanish team’s 1-0 overtime victory.
Among the hundreds of fans was Tony Garcia, former owner of Don Alfonso, the Ottawa Spanish restaurant. Now based in New York, he came home to watch his beloved team win.
“Finally, after a lot of disappointing years, we finally did it,” he said.
