One of the women, Catherine MacDonald, 19, headed to court in Lowell on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty. She was released on bail. The rest of the women are also expected to be arraigned at the Lowell court, the Lowell Sun reported.
According to court documents, Pelham police contacted Dracut police on March 14, 2012, after learning that a large fight between the Dracut and Pelham women occurred the day before at Veterans Park in Dracut. According to the Lowell Sun, a Pelham police school-resource officer was notified that video of the brawl had made it to YouTube. Through the use of Facebook, they were able to identify the rest of the young women in the video.
One of the young women broke her hand, while another may have suffered a concussion.
