2 dead after Harlem drive-by shooting: Police

Two men were killed on Sunday after investigators said an unknown suspect fired at them in a drive-by shooting in Hamilton Heights.

Two men were killed on Sunday after investigators said an unknown suspect fired at them in a drive-by shooting in Hamilton Heights.

 

 

Police reported to the scene at 3661 Broadway in Manhattan at around 2:53 a.m. on Sunday to find the two victims bleeding in front of a 24-hour corner deli.

 

Bronx resident Francisco Mercedez, 29, was found suffering from a shot to his back.

Kenny Jimenez, 21, was unconscious and unresponsive on the ground with a gunshot wound to his neck. He was less than a block away from his apartment.

Paramedics responded to the shooting, but declared Jimenez dead at the scene.

Mercedez was rushed to Harlem Hospital Center, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

No arrests have been made, and authorities said the case is considered ongoing.
